What to do in Sydney

Here are some things you should do while staying in Sydney!

Activities

Sydney has a lot to offer. Here are some things you should consider doing.

Let’s begin with the well-known activities: in the city center, you shouldn’t miss the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge! You can even visit both, or climb to the top of the bridge! If you want a perfect view of the whole city, go visit the Sydney Tower Eye. After a little walk in the CBD, check out the Royal Botanical Garden! The city provides lots of museums too, but the ones to visit if you only had two to choose from would be the Australian National Maritime Museum -with its visitable ships and submarines- or the Australian Museum. Finally, don’t miss the eastern beaches: from the most well-known, Bondi, to the chillest one, Little Bay Beach: there is one for everyone! Go check Manly too, and come back with the sunset on the ferry with the view of the Sydney skyline.

Food and drinks

Now let’s talk about food and drink! You should find what you are looking for in Darling Harbour (with fireworks every Saturday night in summer), Kensington Street, Crown Street, or any food court in the CBD! If you are looking for markets, check the Paddy’s Market in Ultimo, the Rocks Market, or the Fish Market in Pyrmont (they are opening a brand-new one in 2026!). Don’t forget to try the Vegemite or Tim Tam next time you go to the supermarket.

Sport

While in Sydney, don’t miss out on trying surfing! Take a class in Bondi, Maroubra, or Manly! If you are more into running, there are plenty of running clubs. Find the one that fits you best! Otherwise, there are a lot of good parks to run in: Moore Park, Centennial Park, Botanical Gardens, Jubilee Park… If you like swimming in salt water, you will certainly get it. Along the shore are lots of ocean water swimming pools. Also, of course, go see a game at Allianz Stadium or a race in Royal Randwick! Now, if you want a good spot for bars, check out Darling Harbour, Wynyard, Oxford St, Surry Hills, or the Rocks!

Obviously, the best locations are the ones you will discover on your own! Enjoy.
