Kristin in #TakeOverTuesday

Kristin Stjern Norway

Hi, my name is Kristin Jennings Stjern. I am 20 years old and from Norway. I’m excited to share my experiences with you! Home University and Country: University of Southeast Norway Studying: Business Favorite place in the world: Italy Why I chose UTS/Sydney for Study Abroad? I wanted to go to school in a english speaking country so I could practice my english skills. Choosing Australia was easy, as I wanted to use this exchange possibility to travel as far from home as possible to places I was unlikely to visit otherwise. The warm climate was also a major factor in my choice, as Sydney has a much more pleasant climate than my home university, which is located close to the Arctic circle. I also liked the travel opportunities in and around Australia which would let me experience so many new places.

A typical day A typical day here is a lot different from my typical day at home. Here it usually starts with some studying, followed by going out for lunch with friends and discovering many new cafés and districts. I have a lot of evening classes which lets me explore the city during the daytime and also enjoy the view from Yura’s rooftop. I usually cook dinner at home or go out for dinner at one of Sydney’s many amazing places to eat.

When I am not studying you most likely find me… Eating at the many amazing food places around campus and enjoying food from all around the world. I also try to visit new places as often as possible and experiencing everything Sydney has to offer. I especially like the Coogee to Bondi walk and seeing many of the beautiful beaches here in Sydney. I also enjoy spending time doing stuff that relaxes me during my studies, such as having movie nights or going to the gym.

My favorite thing about my experience so far… is definitely all the new and amazing friends I have made and have gotten to travel with so far. It’s incredible how many people you meet, how much you can learn from them and how many places and activities you can experience with them. Something I want to tick off my bucket list Already went to surf camp and ticked that of my bucket list. In addition, I really want to go skydiving while I am in Australia and also go snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef and I hope the possibility presents itself to do this soon.

My one must visit in Australia Noosa heads and Whitsundays seem like such beautiful places and is a must visit for me while I’m here in Australia!

Cheers!
